"I Can't Believe It's Vegan!

Hello and Happy New Year!

The start of a new year is often a time of transition and commitment to change. Often this comes in the form of exploring alternative ways of eating and/or living.

If you haven't already, this year why not consider vegansim or plantbased eating?

Join the Vegan Society of Humboldt and the Humboldt Vegans Meetup Group for our first ever "I Can't Believe It's Vegan!" potluck.

When: Sunday, February 21

Where: The Humboldt Area Foundation Meeting Room

373 Indianola Road Bayside 95524

Time: 1PM-3PM

What to bring: *veganized versions of favorite decadent dishes, snacks, desserts, etc. (as well as your own plates, bowls, cups, and utensils)

This is NOT a lowfat, health food potluck! So, if you want to bring veggies or anything green, you'd better bread and deep fry them first. (I'm sorta kidding, but not really :) )

Some tempting ideas are: burgers, enchiladas, lasagna, vegan cheeses
nachos, fettuccine alfredo, pizza, BBQ ribz, sausages, mac-n-cheese, quiche, fried chik'n, Gardein Fishless fillets, etc.

For desserts and sweets: cakes, pies, brownies, cookies, cheesecake, chocolate mousse, cinnamon rolls, vegan "jello", ice cream, whipped cream.

For those who can't or don't wish to cook, yummy vegan store bought foods abound.
Cracker Jack, Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos(in the purple bag), Newman's Own sandwich cookies, Daiya cheesecake. Just check the labels. You'll be surprised at what you find.

Over the coming weeks, be sure to check the Vegan Society of Humboldt's Facebook page for recipe ideas.

See you soon!

P.S. So your body doesn't rebel too badly, consider eating big salads and drinking some green juice for a couple of days afterwards. :)

I want to thank Justin Leaf with Compassionate Action for Animals in Minneapolis, MN for the inspiration to plan this fun potluck idea.
